Anxi Hairy Crab Wulong Oolong

September 18, 2009 by Antioxidants · Leave a Comment

Anxi Hairy Crab Wulong Oolong

This is a fruity sweet green Oolong (wulong) that is tightly rolled. This is a dense tea that creates darker yellow liquor (liquid), which is strong and orchid like. This tea tastes best using about one full tablespoon to 6-8 oz of water at just below boiling. Don’t infuse more than 2-3 minutes or the brew will bitter, as this is still a green Oolong. This variety also works nicely in a plain cup with the leaves at the bottom, but reduce the leaves to less than a teaspoon or your cup will be too strong.

Aged Liang Tea Leaves 1998 Heirloom Chinese Teas

This Aged Liang Tea is so good it shines. Some say that the brightness of the brew shows the quality of a tea. This tea brews a light golden cup that almost shines. The Liang tea is aged and develops an enjoyable mellowness. It has a uniquely smoky taste that is imparted though the bamboo and thyme into the leaves. A Liang is a weight measure in China (about 31.25g). We offer portions of this 100 Liang tea so that many can discover it. Aged Liang tea is compressed and looks like a green tea, although it consists of high grade leaves that are picked from plants known for their black tea. Said to help digestion and cleansing of the body, Liang tea is Hunan’s very own medicinal tea. This is one of the grandmothers of all teas. An heirloom tea variety, the Liang plant had been producing tea for over two hundred years and will easily become a new favorite of many. Aged Liang can be steeped two or three times with 180 deg f water. A hidden treasure. Vintage 1998.

4 pk Venezuelan Single Origin Tablet

September 9, 2009 by Antioxidants · Leave a Comment

4 pk Venezuelan Single Origin Tablet

Choclatiques Venezuelan Origin is rich in chocolate aroma with exceptionally complex chocolate notes that are accented by subtle hints of red berry fruit. The cacao beans are sourced and harvested from trees of Criollo and Trinitario heritage in Venezuelas Sur del Lago region. Deep inside Venezuela’s tropical forest in the shade of the trees, pink cocoa pods ripen ready for the next harvest in early November. Prior to the discovery of petroleum here and the subsequent oil boom in the thirties and forties, cocoa was Venezuela’s number one export. The current government is aware that cocoa could once again be one of the country’s main exports. Driving around some of these old cocoa communities, with their colonial-style churches and village squares, there seems to be a new sense of pride and purpose in people’s faces. The entire world is talking about Venezuelan chocolate again. Four delectable 100 gm / 3.5 oz Chocolate Tablets.
