Acai An Extraordinary Antioxidant Rich Palm Fruit

Dr. Schauss discovery of a previously little known palm fruits remarkable antioxidant activity, led to publication in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry that confirmed it had the highest peroxyl radical scavenging activity of any food in the world. Since his discovery numerous authors have referred to it as a *super food.*
In this book, the author details the pathway to discovery and recounts the findings of numerous laboratories that collaborated in studying this fruit, now known worldwide as Acai.
The impact of the authors discovery has led to government protection of millions of acres of palm trees in the delicate rain forest of Amazonia. Today over 400,000 liters of acai is consumed a day by nearly 1.2 million inhabitants that live in the floodplains of the Amazon River near Belem, owing to the growing body of information about its nutritional content and antioxidant activity. In addition, it has become a major export food of Brazil and resulted in one of the fastest growing network marketing companies in the world. However, not all acai products are the same; many contain a fraction of the antioxidant activity of a proprietary freeze-dried acai that has been the subject of extensive research by numerous scientists and laboratories.

I’ve seen Dr. Schauss speak, as well as read this book. If you want to learn more about the Acai berry than just the anecdotal evidence presented by many, this is the book for you. Dr. Schauss presents hard facts based on real science that is hard to ignore. This is a must read for those in a certain MLM as well.

Mini Golden Melon Toucha Tea Leaves Vintage Pu erh Tea

It is easy to drink lots of Pu-erh when it tastes as smooth as this Mini Golden Melon. The tea comes as a Tuocha, a birds nest shape which is not only aesthetic and unique, but travels well, too. The leaves are of a high quality grade and are compressed into the Tuocha so that they will only get better with age. The nest itself is 100 grams, a smaller version of the renowned Pu-erh favorite. With only a few flakes, brew a surprising dark and rich cup. Leaves are good for four steeps in boiling water. The Tuocha yields over 30 servings.

5 Stars great for older dogs!
We have a mixed shepherd/elkhound who just turned 13 - he’s had some back leg and hip problems and giving him 2 tablets in his food have helped him tremendously! He’s able to run again and climb steps.
5 Stars dog gone pain….
This worked wonders for my tubby little dachshund. She is getting on in years and has developed a group of fans who have fed her WAY TOO MANY table scraps and she has put on a couple pounds. She developed a limp and actually was falling over when she tried to walk. She likes to jump off the bed as well and I think the combination of her weight, the winter weather and a strain/sprain from jumping put her in a lot of pain. I gave her steroids, baby aspirin…nothing worked. I thought we were going to have to put her down if she didn’t improve when a friend recommended this product. She has been on it for three weeks, a half tablet a day and is no longer limping. You can only see her favor her leg once in a while. I will continue using this and will give it to my other dogs when they start signs of arthritis.
Definitely would recommend to others.

5 Stars A MUST have
It’s been said before, this book is not only for the athletes, it can be applied to anyone who wants to gain knowledge about nutrition. Of course he does address the athlete needs over and above non-athletes, so any serious athlete should not miss out on this important information. Every mineral and vitamin is covered in separate chapters with references to scientific quality studies. You will also find useful information about soy, creatine, melatonin and more. It makes for easy reading and the book is usable as a reference book. The writing style is easy to follow, but he does down-talk FDA numerous times, so if you just ignore that and focus on the facts, this book is excellent. It also covers the importance of antioxidants. HOWEVER, it is written in 2002 and stuff has happened since then, therefore you also NEED his “You can prevent cancer” from 2006 or better yet “Brain Power” in order to get the important info about “Mitochondrial Antioxidants”. 90% of free radicals made in your body are generated at the mitochondria and ordinary antioxidants CANNOT neutralize them! “Sports Nutrition” does not cover the “Mitochondrial Antioxidants”, that’s why.
5 Stars Dr. Colgan is my husband’s most trusted source for sports nutrition and exercise!
I bought this book for my husband, who lives by the first Sports Nutrition Guide by Dr. Colgan. His old book has significant signs of wear and tear from overuse, so I thought my husband would be happy to receive Dr. Colgan’s more recent publication of Sports Nutrition and I was right! Now he’s constantly referring and comparting and incorporating the information he finds in this book into his health regime!
3 Stars Sports Nutrition Guide
I am not sure about this book. It is very informative. It is easy to read and comprehend but it tends to stear me in another direction since this book tends to down the ADA (American Dietetic Association). The book is broken down into individual chapters about each mineral and vitamin and what it does to your body if you’re an athlete. I am a nutritional consultant and never really learned much about sports nutrition in school. This is my first book on sports nutrition so I really have no comparision. Like I stated before, it tends to go against my believe system and the knowledge I have gained in clinical nutrition.
5 Stars Don’t let the title fool you, this is for everyone!
Not just “athletes.” Essentially, this is an update to Colgan’s popular “Sports Nutrition Guide” from 1993. Along with Dr. andrew Weil, Colgan is one of the only “doctors” who truly understands how degraded our food supply is relative to what is natural and healthy, and even more so than Weil, Colgan really tells it like it is and lays it on thick! i have been a long time follower of Colgan, and credit him for much of my success in bodybuilding, powerlifting, and professionally as a Personal Trainer. Colgan helped me on my way to becomming a trainer with much enhanced knowledge of nutrition that helped many a client achieve amazing results (especially compared to the knucklehead trainers who told their overweight clients to eat a bagle for breakfast, and/or to do more cardio to lose fat!). Colgan does not take any balogna from mainstream western medicine and the mess it has created, instead, he will expose the lies and show you the truth in a way that your intuition (and any research, if you have doubts), will assure you is correct!
5 Stars Educational! For everyone to read.
As there are many books on the market concerning this topic, this one actually explains step by step why each supplement is important in our diet. A must read for anyone that is serious about a healthy lifestyle.
Do not hesitate to buy this book, you will not regret any of its pages.
Just look at the pictures of Dr. Michael Colgan for the results!

5 Stars A phenomenal book on adjuvants in cancer therapy that is both conservative and very thorough
For a few decades a few scientists, some of them Nobel laureates, have believed that antioxidants may prevent and even help to treat cancer. Some of the ideas and clinical results have been very promising, but have not received the attention they deserve. Even worse, unsubstantiated and even false claims have been bandied about by some of those who claim to know everything about the antioxidants, which makes anyone who touches the subject appear to be disreputable.
Enter Ralph Moss, PhD, formerly of Sloan-Kettering, who has done a first-rate job of going through myriad journals and papers and establishing which ideas about the use of antioxidants are scientifically proven. This book has no less than 460 references to papers on the subject, in other words, every contention of Dr. Moss’s is well documented. This certainly isn’t a rah-rah book; Moss carefully explains that certain antioxidants are known to worsen certain cancers; this is a field in which carelessness is particularly disasterous.
One of the most intriguing points he raises is that some cancers have been known to remit in response to large doses of CoEnzyme Q 10, a molecule that younger people are able to produce on their own, but which older people must ingest from their diet.
This book is so well researched and written that it ought to be read by anyone with cancer, as one would expect of a book written by the prot

5 Stars Amazing product for improving mobility
This PhyCox-JS has been incredibly effective in improving our pet’s mobility. We give it to our 13+ year old Dalmation-mix. She had been favoring one of her hind legs, at times limping around on 3 legs. After only 2 weeks on daily “doses” of of PhyCox, her stride is almost normal (and no more limping). Her hips seem much less stiff. Our dog had been on a glucosamine supplement previously, with some improvement. However, 1 chew a day (it must taste good to dogs; she thinks it’s a snack) of PhyCox-JS seems to have turned back her clock several years. Highly recommended for older dogs with mobility difficulties–it works wonders!
5 Stars peppy dog…..
My dog is gaining a little more mobility each day she takes her soft chews. I like that and so does my dog

5 Stars Soy of Cooking
I want to cook more with Tofu. I found this book very helpful. The seller was very quick in getting the book to me.
5 Stars my favorite vegan cookbook
This book doesn’t say “vegan” anywhere on it, and I myself am not vegan (just a vegetarian for now), but I feel like I could be vegan based on this cookbook. Oser gives a great, not-too-lengthy but informative introduction to using soy, with a complete list of “unusual” ingredients and where to get them, as well as a conversion chart. The recipes are great — easy to make and delicious! She has a fantastic mix of foods, but my VERY favorite thing about this book is all the “comfort foods” she includes. There’s an AWESOME recipe for shepherd’s pie, for example, that is filling and tasty and makes you not miss meat at all. This book also has the hands-down BEST vegan chocolate cake recipe I have ever eaten. I recommend this book to both new and veteran vegan/vegetarian cooks. You will not be disappointed.
1 Star At yeast it tastes good?
I have been an ardent vegan for nearly 2 years, and this book nearly made me go and buy a McDonald’s hamburger. The recipes I have tried had ingredients that were expensive, difficult to find or both. The finished dishes were not appealing to any of the senses, and had a horrible aftertaste. The aftertaste may have been attributed to the massive amounts of nutritional yeast and miso required by many dishes. After the third time I tried to make a meal using recipes in this book, I threw it out (and almost threw up). I did not want this book to go to Goodwill or Salvation Army and continue the legacy of horrible vegan cooking. There are good vegan cookbooks out there, try again. IF YOU MUST TRY THIS BOOK AVOID: Quiche Lorraine, Brussels Sprouts with Chestnuts and Creamed Artichoke Hearts. All will break your vegetarian/vegan spirit, and scar you for life.
4 Stars Best Soy Recipes I’ve Ever Tasted
I give this 4 stars, only because some of the ingredients are not typical pantry stock and many of the recipes are labor intensive. However, they are “delicious” and filled with nutritional balance. The quantities are large, so often, I will freeze recipes. Also, I’ve found that if I don’t have all the ingredients like mushroom powder or nutritional yeast, the recipe is still very good. Thank you, Marie Oser, for taking the time to test and balance healthy recipes that are worth making.
4 Stars Delicious Meals and Desserts!
I bought this cookbook after about 6 months of being on a diet recommended by my naturopathic doctor. I was told to avoid meat, dairy and sugar. I had been doing o.k. with one of the Moosewood Restaurant books, but was looking for more variety. When I first started looking at the recipes in here, I was a little nervous, being “cooking-challenged”. There were a number of ingredients I had never heard of! But there is a glossary in the front that explains what the ingredients are and where you can find them. Also a good techniques section, which helped me a lot in preparing tofu. And now having made several of the recipes and being amazed when they are finished (they actually look like something I’d get at a restaurant), I’m not so daunted anymore. They are really fairly easy to make and don’t take as much time as you might think from reading the ingredient list. The desserts are great, and believe me, I was addicted to sugar! But these recipes use evaporated cane juice, which you can find at the health food store, and are very tasty! I especially like the chocolate chip cookies and the brownies! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to make a change to a healthier diet!
